I
wondered the same thing when I first got started with solar in Louisiana.
Now I am starting to think otherwise. I started this web site to
hopefully get everybody in LA together that is interested in solar power .
Guess what? From October 1 to October 15, 2001 we have had 505
visitors!
I believe the
majority of visitors we have are from Louisiana. Thank you for showing an
interest. You are not alone! Now what?
Some people
are even taking the one minute to fill out the free membership application to
LSES on the site.
If we can get our membership up we can get our voice to be
heard in the LA legislature. What do they need to hear, you ask? In
case you haven't noticed, most people are motivated by money.
Incentives
to install solar power are just
what some people need to make a move to solar. (Some make the move
for other reasons and I applaud them.)
Incentives
are available in 34 other states... why not Louisiana? I believe
it's because nobody is demanding that they do.
That
somebody is us. Would you install solar if you had a cash incentive?
Probably. Would I install more? Definitely.
Who's
best interest does the LA Public Service Commission have in mind if they
prevent the sale of power back on the grid?
Let's
get 20 LSES members that are
ASES
members
and then we can become an affiliated chapter. I'm an ASES member,
are you?
Ready to start
meeting regularly?
Let's
get a location, date, and time to meet. How about the first Monday
of the month, 6:30 - 7:30 at the Bluebonnet Library in Baton Rouge?
If someone would line that up I would be glad to speak to the club on a
solar topic. If you live outside of Baton Rouge and cannot attend,
just email your comments to me and I will bring them up as well as have
the meeting notes sent to
you.
Not
a member??? Don't
worry. Just come to learn and gather information. That's what
it seems like everyone is doing now.
