The Louisiana Solar Energy Society is a state-wide nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting and educating people about solar energy.

Our mission is to educate solar enthusiasts and professionals in Louisiana with our monthly meetings held in Baton Rouge and Alexandria, hands on workshops, quarterly newsletters, annual solar tours in October and April, promoting solar through representation at conferences and forums, and solar updates on our Web site.

We are a chapter of the American Solar Energy Society, and have been in operation since 1999.

The Baton Rouge meetings are typically the first Monday of every month (except for holidays) at The Great Wall on College Drive from 6:30-8pm.

Quarterly newsletters are sent via email in the Fall(November), Winter(February), Spring(May), and Summer(August).

Workshops are scheduled based on demand. There are currently no LSES workshops planned.

Workshop Testimonial: From our most recent Solar 101 Workshop in October 2009

“I had been interested in starting a business in the solar energy field for the past 2 years, without luck. Due to the lack of information or to much information in the web that would assist me taking the first steps. The Solar 101 Workshop is for someone that really wants to make a career on the sustainable field. LSES workshop focus and direct you to understand the steps on this exciting venture.

I highly recommend entrepreneurs related to the field to attend this workshop.  It’s a BLAST!!”
