Youth of Louisiana Stand Together and Mourn Lives and Livelihoods Lost in Oil Spill

The Youth Alliance of Louisiana Leaders will be holding a candlelight vigil this Saturday, May 22 at 7:30pm at Grand Isle State Park to mourn the lives lost in the Deepwater Horizon oil spill and stand with youth across the country to call for a clean energy economy. You are invited to join us, and we encourage you to forward this email to anyone interested. As of today, the oil has reached the shores of Grand Isle, so an exact location in the state park is TBA until we find out the safest place for us together.

DETAILS:

WHAT: Young leaders from across the country are taking action in response to the BP oil drilling disaster and the need for a clean, safe energy future. As the oil reaches the shores of Grand Isle this week, young people from across Louisiana are coming together at Grand Isle State Park this Saturday to hold a candlelight vigil in honor of the lives lost in the Deepwater Horizon disaster and to demand that their Senators invest in clean energy and reduce the need for offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
